Add Discount
You can add a discount to your construction estimates by following the steps below:
Create a new miscellaneous item called "Discount" in the Costbook. You can set it up however you want but we would advise marking it non-taxable and unchecking "unit pricing". The boxes for cost/price will disappear once you deselect "unit pricing". The amount of the discount will be entered once you add the item to an estimate. Be sure to select "fixed price" otherwise Manage360 will auto-calculate the price from the cost.
Open your estimate and add the discount misc item to it. Enter the amount of discount as a negative value, e.g. -500.
Ensure that the proposal layout you are using is set up to show miscellaneous items. This will allow the discount misc item to be displayed on the proposal. If you have other misc items on the estimate that you do not want to be displayed on the proposal, you can either delete them from the Word document manually, or go to the costbook and mark those items as "hide on proposal". In Estimate > Actions > View Proposal > Select Proposal Template > Edit > scroll to Details > check Misc. Items > Save.
Once you generate the proposal, the Discount item will be displayed as a negative value using brackets, e.g. Discount (500).
