Taxes

Taxes are handled in Manage360 with the use of tax codes. There is a default System Code of 'EXMT' (used for items where no tax will be charged). Tax codes should be created according to your regional, state, or federal tax rates.

Costbook

The tax codes can be applied to items in the Costbook as a Purchasing Tax.

Accounts

The tax codes can be applied to Accounts for the calculation of Sales Tax.

Sales Tax on an Estimate

When an item is added to an Estimate, the Sales tax is determined by the following:

Account: Exempt from Sales Tax Item: Non-taxable

No Sales Tax on the Estimate

Account: Exempt from Sales Tax

Item: Taxable

No Sales Tax on the Estimate

Account: Sales Tax Rate set

Item: Non-taxable

No Sales Tax on the Estimate

Account: Sales Tax Rate set

Item: Taxable

Sales Tax on the Item at the rate set on the Account.

They are created and managed from the Settings area of Manage360.

The list can be sorted and filtered as desired.
