Breakdown of items:

1st level of grouping is always Item Type (Material/Labor/Equipment/Misc. Items/Subcontractor/General Conditions)

2nd level of grouping is based on Tracking preferences - whether or not Work Areas are being used. If they are, then Work Area is this level, if not, then this is the item level.

3rd level of grouping (if used) is the item level.

2. Add Items - This can be used for items that were not on the original Estimate or any approved Change Orders.

They will be added to the Job Actuals with an Estimated amount of 0 and will be counted against the Cost and Profit of this Job.

3. Quantity - Estimate/Job Log/Actual/Var:

Estimate comes from the original Estimate or approved Change Orders
Job Log - what has been entered on the Timesheets
Actuals - data from Approved Timesheets
Var - difference between Actual and Estimate.

4. Amount - Unit Cost/Act Unit Cost/Estimate/Job Log/Actual/Var:

Unit Cost - From Estimated based on the Costbook
Act Unit Cost - Assumed to be the same as the Estimated amount (except for Labor). This is where the cost of individual items can be changed if needed.

Estimate - Estimated cost of the items (current contract)
Job Log - Cost based on the Job Log quantities (uses Act. Unit Cost)
Actual - Cost based on Actual quantities (approved Timesheets) (uses Act. Unit Cost)
Var - difference between Actual and Estimated costs.

5. Checkbox at the end of each Item row:

The are optional and are only on this screen. They do not affect reporting.

One possible use is to confirm that Actual Unit Cost was set.
